After seven years at the helm of Hedgerow House Bed and Breakfast, Jayne and Peter are moving on to their next adventure. It has been a wonderful seven years and we have enjoyed bringing our special touches to the B&B, and achieving #1 on Salt Spring island. Most of all we’ve enjoyed entertaining our many loyal guests, sharing stories over the breakfast table, and creating a comfortable ambiance. We will be around to pass on our knowledge to the new owners, so you may see us and Simba if you visit this summer.
Let us introduce you to your new host, Michelle Canlas ( seated third from left) and her team.
Michelle was born in the countryside of the Philippines where she and her family ran a small business selling bananas at the local market. Her adventure in Canada began in 2011 when Michelle and her young daughter, Jasmine moved to Bowen Island. She helped run Bowen Island Hideaway Bed and Breakfast, where she and her daughter lived.
Bowen Island Hideaway was known for its scrumptious breakfasts and zen-like atmosphere and was consistently rated the #1 Bed and Breakfast on Bowen Island by TripAdvisor, much like Hedgerow House. She has also been heavily involved with the running of Nectar Yoga Retreat on Bowen Island. Michelle enjoys cooking, gardening, and long walks in nature. Her daughter is now a teenager and enjoys piano, dance, and spending time with her friends.
Michelle will be working with a team of people to ensure your stay at Hedgerow House is a great one. Below are some of the faces you may meet during your stay here.
