Me and my guardian

Me and my guardian

So today  my ‘guardian and  discovered  the “Totem Poles “ that stand proud at Burgoyne Bay  which lies at the head of the Burgoyne valley and is  the traditional Quw’utsun territory  and a provincial park . Locally its knows as Hippy Bay as there are  whole bunch of liveaboard boats  sheltering in the bay and I heard that one of them is even an art gallery !! ( maybe I should swim out and check it out  Hmmm! ) Love this hike as I can swim in the “relatively” warm waters roam the beaches and  the wide open fields of this old farming...
Treats please ……

Treats please ……

I just explored remoter parts of Ruckle Park ( at the south end of the island  and about 25 minutes of slow driving from my home)  walked  the Chris Hatfield Trail  which is a real rainforest feast that takes you to Yeo Point at the very northern tip of the park.  Great for swimming ( dogs only – sorry !) and views on Galiano  and Prevost islands. Now its time for some treats; Yum !...
Happy New Year to you all

Happy New Year to you all

I am back !  After a wonderful Christmas holiday I have slipped into the New Year. I feel its going to be a great year with lots of exciting adventures. I thought my humans had abandoned me, but they finally returned from the tropics which has made me soooooo happy.  Its time to get excited about the spring  ( Salt Spring February Festival is around the corner) so start thinking about coming over to the BC tropics here on the Gulf Islands. Woof Woof...
Salute to National Dog day …

Salute to National Dog day …

We love dogs on Salt Spring: Well, I’d like to send out a bark to all those dogs out there who don’t have it as good as I do here on Salt Spring Island. National Dog Day (today, Aug 26th) spotlights dogs that need to be rescued, and reminds humans that adopting a dog from a rescue centre is often best. And that reminds me, humans are welcome to bring their canine friend to Hedgerow House: we have a room with a patio garden for.I like the part that reads: “Dogs are amazing, courageous, sensitive and sentient beings that deserve compassion and respect.”  Yep, that’s me. But I also hear that some dogs are unwanted because they shed too much, or bark too much. OOoooops that could be me. I’d better zip it and go back to snoozing in the...
My home at the market …

My home at the market …

This is really cool, when my humans go to the Saturday Market  here in Ganges I get to go to the day care that is run by the SPCA in the park. I even have a playmate that looks after me and gives me treats . Yum ! Its way more fun than fighting the crowds around the market  although i do like those market stall snacks.   Oh yes I nearly forgot. – If you ( humans) are coming over here  at the end of the month( 26-27-28 Aug)  check out the  Farm to Table dinner at Bullock Lake farm ( where I swim every week)  its a fabulous experience , my humans tell me  so book your tickets now at www.bullocklake farm.com Happy Trails...
I am all tied up…..

I am all tied up…..

So this is the latest addition at Hedgerow House – a rope wall for the yoga studio. I have no idea why humans need ropes to help them do downward facing dog, as it’s second nature to me, of course. But I do see the human guests come out of the studio looking relaxed, well stretched and happy. Just how I feel ALL of the time! Anyway, Peter and Jayne are inviting you to try a yoga class now that we have the new yoga wall, so see you on the...
